Leaving a company scheme
There are a number of reasons why you could be looking to leave a company PMI scheme. These include cancellation by your employer due to a downturn in profits, change of employer due to redundancy or career prospects and going self employed in today’s entrepreneurial society.
Once you have had the benefit of PMI, research suggests you will wish to retain some sort of healthcare cover. The obvious solution is to contact your existing provider but our experience shows that the continuation options offered are very costly. Furthermore, individual plans are generally more expensive than company schemes as the employer receives a discount for covering a group of people.
This is where our specialist Group Leaver team can assist by reviewing the whole private medical insurance market and finding you the most cost effective way of continuing your cover. You need to act fast though as insurers state that in order to qualify for continuation terms there must be no break in cover and we have a window of 14 days of you leaving your scheme to get you the best deal.
